Once you choose the blog to rank for, make sure you analyze the keyword as one that is commonly searched but one that may also be easier to rank for. According to Hubspot, try to choose a blog that has less competition around its target keyword. A great tip is to try ranking for a keyword that your competitor is already ranking for! Chances are, if they can rank for it so can you. 

Make Your Blog Visually Appealing 

Images don't just make your blog look visually appealing, the visual elements also help people find you in search engine listings. If you want to grow your blog's readership, you need to put serious thought behind the images you choose to include in your blog posts. Be strategic and thoughtful in how you choose to display and present each image within your content. All of your blog posts should contain images. Blogs are different from journals and books: they are a part of a platform that requires a very specific type of writing. That format needs enhancement to add context while improving the overall look and readability of the post itself.

Instead of overloading your blog with keywords, try utilizing the technique of including 1 or 2 long tail keywords. Using long tail keywords may be more efficient to this end, since website visitors searching long-tail terms will often be more qualified. In other words, you'll bring in the right type of traffic -- visitors who convert -- by using long-tail keywords (Source). Long tail keywords are more specific, which means visitors that make it to your blog  from a long tail search term are more qualified and are more likely interested in learning more about your business.
