If you haven't figured it out by now, content is a very useful (and necessary) part of the wonderful world of inbound marketing. Many successful companies use content in a number of ways including videos, blogs, and infographics to improve their lead generation and to grow their businesses. For many inbound marketers however, business blogging has become one of the most effective platforms for publishing and maintaining great content.
Blogging is a great way to have your thoughts and ideas put on display for others to read, but that doesn't mean it's easy to gain a following. If you have been considering blogging to promote your business for a while, or are looking to gain more from your blogging experience, take a look at these helpful tips to boost your blog subscribers!
Blog frequently. In terms of blogging, quantity is just as important as quality. If you post blogs infrequently, you will never be able to attract the routine reader. And, although writing quality blogs is a necessity, it can be the frequency of your blogs that make readers come back for more. According to HubSpot, businesses that blog more than once a week add twice the amount of subscribers than companies that choose to blog only once per month. If you are currently only blogging once a month, try to work your way up to once a week. Once you've reached that quota, try to start blogging more than once a week in order to keep your content creation flowing for your readers.
Make sure your content is the best possibly quality. Whereas quantity is the "Ying," consider quality its "Yang." Although it's important to create a constant and consistent stream of blogs for your viewers, nobody will stick around if you don't have anything worthwhile to say. Make sure your blogs are thoughtful and well-researched. Remember, people are reading your blogs because they like what you have to say. Continue to create quality blogs to maintain and increase your viewer ship, because while it may take many well-written blogs for you to gain a subscriber, it can only take one poorly-written one to lose them forever.
Make blog subscription readily available. In the age of instant-gratification, people want things and they want them now. That's why you have to recognize your viewers and their needs. If a viewer likes your blog enough, they'll be more than happy to subscribe to it, just as long as they don't have to go on a scavenger hunt looking for the subscribe form. Yes, it sounds like a small detail to mention, but it's one of the most important ones that people overlook. Poorly placed subscribe buttons can be the death of your blog, and with all the hard work you have already put into it, you don't want to lose any prospective subscribers.
Try creating a landing page. After you've created your CTA you'll need a landing page to direct your users to. This is your landing page. Utilize your landing page by adding small details about your blog and why users should subscribe. Remember to be enticing. Whether you are writing about inbound marketing, home remodeling, IT services, or fitness, if you give your readers a good reason to subscribe they will.
Add a check box. If you don't want to go the route of CTAs or landing pages try adding a check box within one of your forms you already use. This gives users the option of subscribing to your blog with just one click. In fact, HubSpot claims that in just three months, adding a clickable check box to one of their fillable forms increased their subscribers by 128%!
