Is it simply enought to have a Web site? These days, in order to gain market share, it's imperative to actually drive traffic to your Web site. Top level management sometimes believes in the power of inbound marketing, and has all intentions of creating content on a regular basis, and integrating the company's social media as well. But what about the underlings? Middle Management? Has there been a Top-Down edict and accountability for following through on the inbound marketing and Web development changes?
Probably not quite yet. The biggest challenge for staff is the time managemtn and follow through needed to make all the pieces fit together. Consumers have changed the way they make their purchase decisions, and businesses must move now if they want to gain market share. As someone who suspects things are about to change (Why else would you be reading this) but don't have a clear vision of how to get staff (or in some case management) on board, here’s some helpful hints:
Show everyone what your competitors are up to:Visit other peoples blogs, hold meetings where you perform Google searches as a team, and subscribe to other people Blogs on Inbound Marketing, Web design, and Online Marketing. And hand them books...
Ask the right questions: Let people know that things are changing, and their future is at stake. Empower others in your organizatin and inquire about current challenges and goals, and listen to them and then relate them to online marketing goals.
Talk about the impact: What would 1 new customer a month mean to the company? 1 new customer a week? 1 new customer a day?
