4 Vital Signs For A Healthy SEO Strategy

SEO HealthThere are several SEO factors that you should keep your eye on, if you are serious about your website's SEO performance. We will be discussing terms and metrics that are important signs for ensuring that you have a healthy website. If you lack any of the following procedures, or have not performed up to par, it's time to get to work!

Meta Descriptions

A meta description is the text that appears below your page in a search engine result. Meta descriptions are used to explain what the page is all about. In the past, they were used to optimize for keywords so crawlers would know more about your page contents; however, now the focus is on creating something compelling that makes readers want to visit your website or blog. Make sure that you fill out a unique meta description for each page. Meta Descriptions should be no longer than approximately 155 characters.

Healthy Keyword Usage

Before you create a new site page or blog post, you will probably be thinking about how to incorporate your keywords into your post. This shouldn't be your only focus and it might not even be your primary focus. There’s no specific keyword density you should be aiming for. Whenever you create content, your focus should be on what matters to your audience, not how many times you can include a keyword or keyword phrase in that content. Using a keyword too frequently in a post can result in penalization due to “keyword stuffing.”

Understanding your target audience and what interests them is essential to attracting relevant visitors to your website through search engines. If you keep the reader in mind and only use keywords when necessary, you will find enough natural opportunities.

Title Tags

Simply put, a title tag is the main text that describes an online web page. For years now, title pages have been thought of as one of the most important on-page SEO elements. Title pages appear in three key places: browsers, search engine results pages, and external websites.

If your title tags are too long (past 60 characters), search engines will shorten the titles for you, often leaving half completed titles. I would aim for title tags between 50-59 characters long. That's not necessarily going to guarantee that it never gets changed in the search engine results pages but at least you'll have more control over how you're represented.

Link Building

If you have authoritative sites linking back to your site, it will definitely help to build your rank. While some argue that the quantity of links is the best method for imprpving SEO, it is far more likely that the quality of the links offers more drastic results.

A search engine can determine the popularity of a page by analyzing the number and popularity of the pages linking to them.

Use your social media accounts and your blog page to link back to your website (the opposite works as well). If you do this when search engines recognize that other sites are linking back to yours, it will build credibility for your site.

ImageWorks, LLC

Never depend on search engine optimization alone for the growth of your business. Often the businesses that fail are the ones that depend on SEO alone for the entire growth of their business. The companies that survive and thrive are the ones that have a solid approach and market in a variety of ways both online and offline. SEO can be a big piece; however, it is only one slice of the marketing pie.

By integrating all of today's Web tools such as SEO, social media, pay per click, and blogs, ImageWorks can provide a level of permission based inbound marketing that will turn your site into a lead generation tool. With continued nurturing programs, you become a trusted source, and prospects convert to customers.
