Target AudienceSocial media isn’t just about keeping up with what your friends and family did over the weekend. Now, various platforms have become marketing hubs that allow businesses to target a specific audience to make users aware of the products or services they offer, and because so many people use social media, it’s a great opportunity for businesses to spread brand awareness.

With the creation of popular social media platforms such as twitter, Instagram and snapchat, Facebook has been a leading platform and continues to be the most popular. The amount of users on Facebook creates a very high chance of engaging with customers of all types.  Depending on what kind of business you’re in, there are many age demographics to target your brand too. The way to get users to actually find your brand is to use various marketing tools to creating engaging content. If you have a business and want to optimize how to reach your target audience, here are a few tips to doing so through Facebook.

Create a Business Page for a More Effective Message

If you haven’t already, create a business page for your audience to go to. This way you can have all of the information you would have on a webpage on Facebook to convey what kind of business you are. You then will be able to formulate data on who your target audience is based on who is viewing your page the most.

Find Your Existing Audience

If you are posting on social media to spread brand awareness and aren’t seeing results, remember that a platform so widely used such as Facebook has many different demographics. You have to identify your existing customer base and translate that through your page. There are a few ways to determine this information.

Analytics – Google Analytics allows you to view demographics and information about who is viewing your website. Then you will be able to form who your target audience is based off of that information.

Audience Insights - Facebook has a tool called audience insights, where similar to analytics, you can lean the different demographics of users who are following your page, or what their purchase behavior is. This way, when you are formulating your next marketing plan, you can create content based on your audience’s previous actions on the platform.

Surveys – finding out what your customers wants and needs are can also be found more directly. Try creating a simple survey for your customers to take in order to fine tune the demographic you’re attracting.

Getting the Message Across

You want to be sure the message you’re trying to convey is easily understood by your target audience. You can tailor your marketing efforts by making sure your message is being seen by the right audience using these tactics:

SEO tactics – Search engine optimization techniques will help boost traffic to your site and your reach will become stronger.

Blogs – Having a blog is a great way to curate a message to your viewers so that they can better understand what your business is all about, and hopefully find the information they’re looking for.

Paid Advertising – Consider investing in paid ads. Organic reach is a good way to create a more personal message, but paid advertising gives you full control of your target audience. You can set a budget and format your message, while tracking who sees and interacts with your ads.

Consistent Post Updates

Asserting your presence on Facebook is important to reaching your audience. It may seem excessive, but not everyone is going to always see what you post depending on when they’re checking the platform. And if you’re what they’re looking for, then make sure they know you’re there. Think of how many people see your posts and base the amount of posts you need to make a week off of that. If you want to optimize how many people see your content, then you may want to post a few more times than what you normally are.
