In today’s digital landscape, there are many ways people can find your brand. With social media platforms dominating advertising and branding, there’s much more exposure for businesses to reach new customers. Even with all the outlets available, your website should still be your most important platform. Good websites are what generate conversions and keep people coming back to you. Having an outdated or broken website can be steering people away from your brand, and might mean its time for a redesign.

Now a redesign doesn’t always mean you need to change everything, which is why it’s important to take the time to figure out what does need to be changed or modified. Here are a few reasons it might be time to redesign your website.

You’re Not Getting the Results You Want

The purpose of your website is to build a customer base, which you’ll want to track the results of to find out where on your site people are clicking to. This includes examining your sites conversion rates and will give you a better idea of what needs to be adjusted. Here are a few things to consider to help you determine doing a redesign:

  • Do your CTAs convert visitors into leads and customers?
  • Do your landing pages provide value and entice people to learn more?
  • Is your site riddled with text-heavy pages or language customers wouldn’t understand?
  • Does your site speak directly to your target audience?

Your Website Doesn’t Work

There are plenty of websites out there that simply just don’t work. Your website should be user friendly and functional, as well as have working links and re-directs. The best way to determine if you’re site is functioning is to go ahead and figure out the following:

  • Can a visitor easily find basic information such as contacts and location?
  • Are links and navigation functions working?
  • Are your product or service listings up to date?
  • Are your third-party tools functioning?

Your Site doesn’t Reflect Your Marketing Goals

Similar to having your website include the proper conversion elements, your site needs to be aligned with your marketing objectives. While you don’t need to do a full site redesign every time you adjust your marketing goals, it’s important to check how your website reflects those changes every so often. For example, if one of your goals is to add more content that can generate leads, make sure you include a functioning CTA to that content i.e. blogs, testimonials, eBooks, etc.

You want to Implement a Better Content Strategy

Good content can improve SEO results and customer retention; however, search engines are constantly evolving, and you need to make sure people can actually find your content. Including SEO in a website redesign will already help both people and search engines find your site, it will help them find your new content as well.

If any of these outlined reasons ring true to your website, it could be time for a redesign. Remember, your website is meant to bring in business, so it shouldn’t feel intimidating to make some changes if they are going to benefit you in the long run.
