But it doesn’t have to be too difficult, taking the time to keep up on the trends and read blogs like this can help you stay on top of your social media marketing! ### **Video Content**

Video content marketing is a great way to spread brand awareness or what products or services you are trying to sell. They don’t need to be long or full on commercials that cost a lot to make either. Short, informative clips are more enticing to users, and video content typically gets more shares than text. They don’t require much time or editing, and are perfect to share on twitter, Instagram or Facebook. No matter what your business sells, video content is a great way to share with your followers what your brand is all about.

### **Take Advantage of the Trends**

If you’re looking to increase exposure, staying up on the trends going around can help you curate more relevant content your followers will understand, and hopefully get a kick out of. Platforms such as Twitter and Facebook have a list of trending topics, making it easier for you to see what’s popular that week. But before you start throwing in a bunch of hashtags from the trending page, make sure you understand what the trend is and why people are interested. You want to make it relevant to your brand as well, so if you think a connection between the two can be made, use it to your advantage. People are always looking for relatable and relevant content, and if you can tie it into your brand in a compelling way, it’s a great way to produce a new audience and followers.

### **Contest or Giveaway**

Having an occasional contest or giveaway is a great way to engage your followers, and brings an incentive for them to purchase what you are selling. There are a few ways to go about doing this, with the intent that your giveaway will bring in more followers and interest users to come back to your page. If you have the resources to do a contest or giveaway, the following tips can help you get started:

- **Have something to give away.** Items unrelated to your brand most likely won’t draw in long-term followers. Make sure what you’re giving away is related to your brand, such as a free product, membership, or limited-time discounts.
- **Terms and conditions.** Legally, you want terms and conditions to cover your contest. It will also make it seem more legitimate, and users won’t view it as a scam. Make sure to leave an email address so people can get in touch about any questions.
- **Creative enter.** Having followers post about your brand for you is a great way to encourage other users to participate, and shows that you aren’t the only one trying to promote your company. Asking users to create their own content or hashtag can produce more traffic to your giveaway, creating more brand awareness and followers.
